About the school

Williamsburg Campus Child Care (WCCC), a 501c3 organization, has been providing day care and early childhood education to Williamsburg families on the campus of William & Mary since 1981.

WCCC’s close relationship with the College provides student interns and employees the opportunity to work closely with the full-time teachers and gain valuable experience in early childhood education and maintain a low student to teacher ratio.

Parents participate regularly in center activities and operations through a wide range of volunteer opportunities. The learning centers in each room contain both teacher-directed and child-directed activities that are designed to help children learn and express themselves creatively. Parents receive lesson plans each week to encourage participation in the child’s experience.

As a part of our program, lunch and two snacks are carefully planned and prepared fresh on site by William & Mary Dining Services. For early arrivals, breakfast is available until 7:30 am daily.

WCCC’s proximity to William & Mary, Colonial Williamsburg, Merchant’s Square and the public library provide ample opportunity for children to have walking field trips. Additionally, the children are frequently visited by the Bookmobile, XXXXX

The Center has a 3-star rating from the Virginia Star Quality Initiative, and a recent efficiency audit confirmed that the Center provides some of the best care in the area.

WCCC is licensed by the State of Virginia and provides meals and snacks through the U.S. Department of Agriculture’s Child and Adult Care Food Program (CACFP). Furthermore, WCCC has been designated a “Color Me Healthy Center” through the Nutrition and Physical Activity Self-Assessment for Chlld Care Centers (NAP SACC) pilot project.
