Staff

The center staff members are actively engaged with the children, providing support and appropriate guidance. The low staff-to-child ratios allow our teachers to regularly interact with every child in the classroom on an individual basis. The professional staff are assisted by William and Mary Education and Psychology student interns, student employees, volunteer aides and parents.

For individual staff bios, please visit the individual classroom pages.

She also holds a Master’s degree in Education from the College of William and Mary. Janet has 30 years of experience working with young children, having served as an infant/toddler coordinator, a preschool coordinator and as the program director for several employer sponsored programs, both in Virginia and Maryland In January, 2002, Janet was named WCCC’s director.

In addition to her responsibilities at WCCC, Janet recently completed six years of mentoring for the Smart Beginnings programs which provides on-site mentoring and training to child care centers who are participating in Virginia’s Star Quality Initiative (VSQI.) Currently, she is a Technical Specialist working with programs in the Virginia Quality program (formerly VSQI), focusing on the areas of curriculum and classroom interactions. Jeanne Fudge, Administrative Assistant

Jeanne joined the staff at WCCC in September of 2001. Her 15 years working as the Administrative Associate for the Advertising Director of the Daily Press and 4 years as a Project Manager for a custom home builder gave her all the experience she needed to handle the financial aspects of her job here at WCCC. Her child care experience was attained not only from raising her 2 sons, but also providing 10 years of private child care services.

Jeanne’s time away from WCCC is spent with her husband of 40 years who she met while working at the Daily Press. Joe was the photojournalist who offered to take her photo id picture, followed by a dinner invitation, and the rest is history! Jeanne’s son Jeremey lives in Northern Virginia with his wife Ariane who have provided Jeanne with her greatest treasures, grandsons Bryce and Dylan. Her son Joseph is a chef living in Arizona with his beautiful wife, Crystylynda.

Jeanne also enjoys reading and gardening, and spoiling her German Shorthaired Pointers — Steffi, (a retired beauty queen) and Sofie (a wildly spirited flibbertigibbet!)
