Enrollment

Immediate openings are available in our Pre-K classroom. Contact us now to arrange a facility tour.

Families wishing to enroll their child(ren) in any classroom must complete a Waiting List Application (pdf) and submit a $50 non-refundable wait list fee (see right for Paypal). An application is not considered complete until both items are received.

Once an application is received, children are prioritized based on three (3) categories:

  • Category A: Any family in good standing who currently enroll a sibling at WCCC and whose second (or third) child will attend WCCC.
  • Category B: Any full- or part-time William & Mary faculty, administration, staff (including those paid by Auxiliary Services and Campus Ministry), students and employees.
  • Category C: Any family from the community.

When space becomes available at WCCC, it will be offered first to the family in Category A with the earliest application fee receipt date, whose child is or will be age-appropriate. WCCC will make every effort to contact applicant families; however if the Center is unable to do so within (5) business days, the space will be offered to the next available family.  After the family has been contacted, it will have two business days to notify WCCC whether they will accept the space. Once the space has been accepted, the family will have ten (1) business days to complete and return the Commonwealth of Virginia School Entrance Health Form.

We request that families who no longer wish to remain on our waiting list, notify the Center and ask that their names be removed from consideration.

Family Involvement

WCCC believes that parents, educators and children are all partners in the educational process. Family involvement is not only beneficial, but essential to the life of WCCC. For that reason, family participation is an integral and important component of our program. There are many possibilities for family involvement within the center; however, each family is required to contribute a minimum of twelve (12) hours of volunteer service to the Center each year. Participation may be in the form of assistance with the Center’s website and maintenance or spontaneously reading a story to a classroom during morning drop-off time. Examples of other family participation activities include service on the Center’s Board of Directors or Advancement Committee; coordination of special events such as our holiday party or teacher appreciation week festivities; walking with a class on an educational excursion; or, a presentation of a special program to the children. During the 2013-2014 fiscal year, parents completed over 732 hours of volunteer work at the center.
